Lots of people have been asking me about how hyperlinking correlates to MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator).

First of all, I need to emphasize that I’m *NOT* talking about the 16personalities test. They use the same letters, but their test focusses on what you do, not why you do something, which is what MBTI is actually about (their type descriptions are pretty neat though). They also added in an extra letter, essentially transforming MBTI into Big5, which is simply a different methodology.

Anyways, those who identify as hyperlinkers are almost always N-types. Especially a high N (extraverted intuitive function) and T (introverted thinking function) tend to be prominent in hyperlinkers (both N & T are usually in the 3 mainly developed functions).

S-types are less likely to type as hyperlinkers, since they focus more on their senses and less on the processing of abstract concepts. Although ESTJs have the function stack Te-Si-Ne-Fi (so both N & T in their first 3 functions) I haven’t encountered any hyperlinkers there as of yet.
