The @Jacobandco Bugatti Chiron Sapphire Crystal is the result of two years of research and development, and several months of materials processing, high level machining and hand polishing to produce a case with an unparalleled view of the 578 hand-decorated and hand-assembled components of the exclusive JCAM37 manual wound caliber. Sapphire is one of the hardest natural materials in the world, only eclipsed by diamond. Because of this diamond-tools are required to craft the case. Polishing is the most difficult and time consuming process taking a craftsman approximately 120 hours to complete the case by hand. This same delicate hand polishing is used for the caseback, the top, the three crowns and other pieces that are attached to the case. The result is a unique piece that fully exposes the groundbreaking totally functional replica of the BUGATTI W16 engine with its pistons pumping, turbochargers spinning as well as the whirl of the one-minute tourbillon.
